1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Pawdex ("the App"), operated by Pawdex Ltd (company number 17122439), registered at 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of service

Pawdex is a pet health tracking and shared care application. It allows users to log health events, track medications, share care responsibilities with co-owners, and receive AI-generated health insights.

3. Not a veterinary service

Pawdex is NOT a veterinary service. The App does not provide veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.

• All health data, AI summaries, pattern analysis, and insights are for informational and tracking purposes only
• AI-generated content should never be used as a substitute for professional veterinary advice
• Always consult a qualified veterinarian for medical decisions regarding your pet's health
• In an emergency, contact your vet or an emergency veterinary service immediately

4. User responsibilities

• You are responsible for the accuracy of all data you enter into the App
• You must keep your account credentials secure and not share them
• You must not upload inappropriate, illegal, or harmful content
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share co-owner contact information
• You must comply with all applicable laws when using the App

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload content that is offensive, abusive, or violates the rights of others
• Use the App to harass, stalk, or intimidate other users
• Attempt to access other users' data or accounts without authorisation
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the App's source code
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the App
• Upload malware, viruses, or any harmful code
• Circumvent security measures or content moderation systems

6. Upload policy

All uploaded files are subject to the following rules:

• Only pet-related images and health documents are permitted
• Images are automatically scanned for inappropriate content
• File size limits: images up to 10MB, documents up to 20MB
• Permitted formats: JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, PDF, DOC, DOCX
• We reserve the right to remove content that violates this policy without notice

7. Fair use of AI features

Pro and trial plans describe AI features such as photo analysis, food checks and health summaries as unlimited for normal personal use. Unlimited means we do not set a monthly allowance, not that there is no limit at all. To keep the service running for everyone and to prevent automated misuse, we apply daily limits per account. These are set well above what any ordinary use of the app reaches, and most people will never encounter them. If you do reach a limit, it resets the following day.

We may adjust these limits, and we will not reduce them in a way that affects ordinary personal use without telling you first. We may suspend access to AI features where use appears automated, shared between people, or intended to resell or extract the service.

8. Account suspension & termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service or the Upload Policy
• Upload inappropriate or illegal content
• Attempt to compromise the security of the App or other users' data
• Use the App in a manner that could damage, disable, or impair the service

We will provide reasonable notice before suspension where possible, except in cases of serious violations requiring immediate action.

9. Intellectual property

The App, its design, features, and content (excluding user-generated content) are owned by Pawdex Ltd (company number 17122439). You retain ownership of all data and content you upload. By using the App, you grant us a limited licence to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the service.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated insights
• We are not liable for any veterinary decisions made based on information from the App
• We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from your use of the App, including but not limited to data loss, service interruptions, or reliance on AI-generated content
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim

11. Data & privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.

12. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with changes, you should stop using the App and delete your account.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
